IJssel, a 500-employee specialist in process optimization across food, processing and production industries, faced a complex pre‑production challenge: a single reaction arm can have roughly 1.3 million possible compositions, creating high risk of errors, waste and slow sales-to-production throughput. To tackle sales-side and pre-production complexity and to support customers under the pressure of Smart Industries, IJssel partnered with Elfsquad to evaluate and deploy a product configurator.

Elfsquad implemented its configurator integrated with Autodesk Inventor to generate parametric CAD models and automated production orders, enabling guided selling for both sales staff and customers. The solution sped up invoicing, produced errorless CAD schematics (leading to errorless production orders), freed engineers to focus on R&D, and drove standardization—resulting in elimination of many production errors and a drastic reduction in waste while improving customer cooperation and time-to-delivery. Elfsquad’s configurator thus became a catalyst in IJssel’s pre‑production process.
