Westinghouse Nuclear Fuel, a leading global supplier of nuclear fuel products and services, needed a better way to manage the quality and traceability of materials across a complex, multi-tier supply chain. Its paper- and PDF-based process made it difficult to track lot-by-lot data, validate incoming materials, and maintain compliance and documentation for both its own operations and its customers’ regulatory requirements. Elemica implemented a secure, web-based quality management and traceability system that connected Westinghouse with suppliers at multiple tiers, standardized data collection, and enabled electronic certificates, shipment validation, SPC analysis, and searchable end-to-end supply chain reporting. The result was faster access to quality data, reduced manual handling and errors, better compliance control, and improved traceability from raw materials through final assembly and customer delivery. Westinghouse also reported time and resource savings for suppliers and plants, with a scalable platform that could be expanded without additional software or licenses.
