Morton Salt - Customer Case Study

Morton Salt, a North American consumer goods company with 2,000 employees and $997 million in revenue, needed a better way to manage the cost, time, and complexity of producing customer-bound Certificates of Analysis (COAs). With products ranging from culinary and pharmaceutical salts to deicing materials, the company faced highly variable testing and documentation requirements across 24 facilities in the U.S. and Canada.

Elemica implemented Elemica Quality, including Specification Management and e-COA Outbound, to automate certificate generation, validation, transmission, and storage. The result was a savings of about 15 minutes per certificate, translating to roughly 8,000 to 8,750 man-hours saved annually, along with improved visibility, standardization, traceability, and faster identification of material trends across plants.
