Case Study: AkzoNobel improves VMI and procure-to-pay efficiency with Elemica

A Elemica Case Study

Preview of the AkzoNobel Case Study

AkzoNobel - Customer Case Study

AkzoNobel, the global paints, coatings, and specialty chemicals company, needed to replace a nine-year-old internally built Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) system that had become hard to maintain and difficult for suppliers to use. The legacy setup limited visibility into inventory, forced suppliers to hold higher stock levels, and made end-of-period invoice reconciliation slow and error-prone. Elemica provided its Procure to Pay and VMI solution to address these challenges.

With Elemica, AkzoNobel expanded VMI across multiple business units and regions, including Latin America and Asia, giving suppliers real-time visibility into consumption and stock levels so they could deliver materials just in time based on reorder points rather than purchase orders. Elemica helped improve transparency, reduce inventory and working capital, speed up invoice processing, and cut payment errors, while supporting rollout to more than 200 additional planning items.
