Second Harvest of Silicon Valley, a Silicon Valley food bank, faced an overnight surge in demand during COVID-19, jumping from serving 270,000 people per month to 500,000 and from 180 careline calls a day to more than 1,000. At the same time, the organization had to rapidly change business processes and Salesforce NPSP configuration while many staff worked remotely and an implementation project was already underway.
Using Elements.cloud, Second Harvest quickly documented and mapped processes, performed impact analysis with the Org Model/Data Dictionary, and managed new requirements and training materials in Salesforce. Elements.cloud helped the team confidently implement changes such as 14 emergency drive-thru sites, online volunteer recruitment, and a reduction in client registration time from 8 minutes to 2 minutes, while improving onboarding, process testing, automation, and overall efficiency.
