HealthStream, a major company in healthcare business administration, faced a challenge with its outdated reporting tool. Their users struggled with a complicated process, often having to manually combine separate reports to get the data they needed. To address this, they partnered with the UI/UX design vendor Eleken to redesign the product and introduce user-friendly customization.

Eleken conducted user research which revealed that customers did not need highly complex custom reports, but rather simpler standard reports with minor customization options. They redesigned the user flow, improved navigation with filters and grouped templates, and added features like saved reports and scheduling. After seven months of work, the new design was proven through usability testing to be understandable and functional, successfully solving the initial user problem.
