Surf Ballroom creates a 1,365 sq. ft. immersive music experience with Electrosonic

The Surf Ballroom, a National Historic Landmark, sought to create a fully immersive museum experience to teach its music history and memorialize legends like Buddy Holly. Their challenge was to engage visitors of various learning styles and accommodations with modern technology. They partnered with vendor Electrosonic for audiovisual consulting, design, and equipment to bring this vision to life.

Electrosonic implemented a solution using high-quality projectors for 360-degree projection on curved walls and floors, along with motion sensors for interactive guest experiences. This created a multi-sensory, accessible environment that includes assisted listening and ASL interpreted shows. The result for the Surf Ballroom is a first-of-its-kind immersive exhibit that attracts a broader audience, encourages repeat visits, and successfully preserves the legacy of the musical legends for a new generation.
