Historic Environment Scotland creates immersive heritage experiences across 300+ sites with Electrosonic

Historic Environment Scotland, Scotland's lead public body for the historic environment, wanted to use technology to create authentic, immersive experiences for training and events that leveraged their digital archives. Their challenge was to make visitors feel they were viewing historic buildings firsthand, requiring high-quality projection on complex surfaces and technology that remained 'invisible', all within a demanding three-month timeline. They engaged vendor Electrosonic for its expertise in experiential technology and specialty projection.

Electrosonic implemented a multi-faceted solution featuring a six-meter immersive cylinder for a 270-degree canvas and a mobile three-meter immersive cube to bring the experience across Scotland. They also integrated a modular 4K LED wall. The result allows visitors to experience remote or inaccessible historic sites as if they were there. Electrosonic's solution provided the client with innovative and flexible ways to present its rich digital content, significantly enhancing the user and learner experience.
