Monta, a global operating platform for the EV ecosystem, faced the challenge of making the transition to electric mobility seamless and exciting. To accelerate adoption and reduce carbon emissions, they needed granular carbon emissions data to power their SmartCharging solution. This led them to partner with vendor Electricity Maps.

The solution implemented by Electricity Maps provided forecast data on grid carbon intensity and renewable share. This data was integrated into Monta's algorithms, enabling users to optimize their charging for sustainability. The results were significant, including 70,000 optimized charging sessions, a 48% growth in users choosing low-carbon charging, and an average of 203g of CO₂ avoided per charge. Electricity Maps' dependable API was essential to this key feature and Monta's expansion.
