Law Help Minnesota boosts traffic 50% with Electric Citizen

Law Help Minnesota, a statewide legal aid organization, needed to overhaul its website, LawHelpMN.org. The site overwhelmed low-income residents with confusing navigation and an information overload, hindering their ability to find legal help. They also wanted to expand their online services to better connect users with legal resources and providers. They engaged the vendor, Electric Citizen, for a comprehensive redesign using Drupal.

Electric Citizen implemented a new strategy, design, and development solution. This included a new React.js-powered "Legal Help Guide" triage tool and the Legal Organizations Online Network (LOON) for providers. The redesign focused on simplified navigation, plain language, responsive and accessible design meeting WCAG standards, and robust multilingual support. Post-launch, traffic increased by over 50%, and the site successfully connected thousands of residents with the appropriate legal aid.
