Tesco helps save 34 million meals with Electric Circus

Electric Circus partnered with Tesco, a major UK food retailer, to address the challenge of engaging its 200,000 store colleagues in non-compulsory sustainability training. The goal was to educate employees on reducing food waste, a core part of Tesco's net-zero strategy, during a busy post-pandemic period where capturing their attention was difficult.

The solution involved an interactive digital learning experience developed by Electric Circus, featuring videos, animations, and gamified quizzes with competitive leaderboards. This approach made complex topics accessible and engaging. As a result, Tesco colleagues helped donate 34 million meals, redistribute 26,000 tonnes of food, and save 650 artic lorries of food from waste, significantly reducing the company's overall food waste percentage.
