How we Transformed Star group intranet and website

STAR Group, a privately owned Tier 1 electrical, communications and maintenance contractor established in 1957, needed to modernise how it managed information and communicated across a large, regulated workforce. Its existing “intranet” was an online spreadsheet with limited tagging, search or filtering, and many core processes were manual; at the same time the public website needed a modern, mobile‑responsive redesign for a time‑poor, tech‑savvy audience.

Working with Elcom, STAR Group launched a redesigned website and an intranet deployed as a sub‑site on the same CMS. The solution added meta tagging, Active Directory integration, document management, automated forms and workflows (for travel, HR, incidents and more), and a learning management system. The result is a cleaner, mobile‑friendly website that better showcases projects, plus an intranet that speeds processes, reduces steps, centralises training and incident tracking, and requires no additional platform cost—delivering quick wins and a foundation for continued improvement.
