Special Olympics International trains 15 universities and 1,000 learners with ELB Learning

Special Olympics International, a global nonprofit organization, faced the challenge of training healthcare professionals and students to provide equitable care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Their existing five-module curriculum lacked interactivity and engagement, limiting its effectiveness. They partnered with vendor ELB Learning to transform this training into an immersive learning experience.

ELB Learning developed a custom interactive solution featuring self-paced modules with compelling scenarios, gamified interactions, and personal stories from individuals with IDD. The results were significant, with over 15 U.S. universities adopting the modules for the 2023/24 academic year. Within one month of being posted on a major LMS platform, over 1,000 healthcare professionals had completed the training, and the program has generated widespread interest from new universities and international groups, positively impacting the health of people with IDD.
