National Hockey League reaches 3.2 million students with ELB Learning

The National Hockey League faced a challenge in sparking and maintaining teen interest in STEM topics, as studies showed engagement waned by the tenth grade. To compete with student distractions and leverage their passions for sports and video games, the NHL sponsored a program and partnered with ELB Learning to create a web-based learning platform.

ELB Learning developed a solution centered around an engaging, hockey-themed game where students manage an NHL team. This platform taught and immediately applied 12 STEM concepts through interactive activities, allowing students to experiment with principles like angles and friction. The solution reached 3.2 million students, who collectively logged over 7 million hours of learning on the platform.
