How Wendy’s deployed custom games to announce launch of new product and build buzz on social media

Wendy's, one of America's largest fast-food restaurant chains, wanted to build anticipation for the launch of its new Oreo Frosty Parfait product. Their challenge was to announce the launch, generate organic excitement, build social media buzz, and resonate with a broad demographic. To meet this four-fold requirement, they partnered with the vendor ELB Learning.

ELB Learning's game division, The Game Agency, developed a custom promotional game titled "In Flight of the Oreo." The competitive game, set in a winter wonderland, teased the new product's key elements and included features like leaderboards and social sharing to drive engagement. The gamified approach was a raging success, meeting all of Wendy's objectives by building significant curiosity and excitement around the brand and its new product launch.
