Southland Golf & Country Club, a privately owned course in Stone Mountain, Georgia, needed a way for golfers to buy towels, extra balls, tees and refreshments without returning to the pro shop. Managing Director Brian Wheeler and co-owner Rudy wanted to offer on-course convenience and reduce cash transactions, so they engaged Elavon for a mobile payments solution.
Elavon deployed handheld smart terminals with Wi‑Fi, dual touchscreens, support for credit/debit, Apple Pay and Google Wallet, receipt email/SMS, EMV/encryption/tokenization and a remote dashboard. With Elavon’s devices, Southland now accepts payments directly on the course, increasing pro shop sales while reducing payment processing times and the reliance on cash.
