Univé deploys Elastic Cloud to transform website search experience for customers

Univé, the Dutch insurance company, needed a more cost-efficient way to manage the growing volume of website content and improve search for customers and policyholders. Its old on-premise search system was time-consuming to maintain, delayed content updates, and required significant developer effort, so Univé turned to Elastic Cloud and Elastic Enterprise Search with support from Atos.

Elastic implemented cloud-based search and analytics tools to automate indexing, track “no result” queries, and tune relevance with synonyms and field weighting. The results were strong: Univé cut day-to-day maintenance time by 95%, saved about 20 days of developer time in 2–3 months, reduced “no results” searches by 87% in six months, and nearly halved the bounce rate on top search results in the first month.
