Case Study: Thomson Reuters achieves a scalable, secure Search-as-a-Service with Elastic

A Elastic Case Study

Preview of the Thomson Reuters Case Study

Thomson Reuters - Customer Case Study

Thomson Reuters, the global provider of intelligent information for financial, legal, tax, IP and news professionals, needed to operate a mission-critical enterprise search platform across its businesses. The team had to support petabytes of content, complex multilingual and research-grade search semantics, and a rapidly growing Elasticsearch footprint—hundreds of clusters and over a thousand nodes—while delivering strict SLAs, strong security, cross-site redundancy and fast provisioning with a small operations staff.

They built a Search-as-a-Service ecosystem on Elasticsearch, operationalizing cluster provisioning and management and adding custom tooling for security (TR‑Security/Sentinel), alerting (Mayday), navigation, monitoring and automated snapshot/restore. The platform made search easy to use and scale, improved visibility and recovery, met availability and SLA targets (99.99%), and accelerated time-to-market for product teams across the company.
