Tango, a California-based free mobile messaging service with 250 million users in 224 countries, needed to guarantee an industry‑leading communications experience worldwide. Their legacy logging was manual and siloed — backend command‑line grabs and huge client log dumps — leaving them blind to correlated client/backend events, without alerting, and causing performance issue detection and resolution to take days.

Tango deployed the full ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), shipping logs via Logstash/Redis into Elasticsearch and using Kibana dashboards (and Marvel to monitor Elasticsearch) to correlate client and server data in real time. The solution delivered immediate visibility across 250 million users, cut incident response from days to about five minutes, doubled operations productivity, improved uptime and customer experience, and produced BI insights to prioritize features and regional performance fixes.
