A Elastic Case Study
SolveBio is a New York–based startup at the intersection of technology and genomics that helps pharmaceutical companies accelerate oncology research and precision medicine. The company faced the challenge of aggregating and analyzing vast, semi‑structured molecular datasets from tens of thousands of sources—including diagnostics, public repositories, private knowledge bases, and clinical studies—to answer domain‑specific questions like “Where have we seen this mutation before?” at scale and with enterprise reliability.
SolveBio built its molecular data platform on the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch), ingesting events at large scale into clusters that host billions of records and expose secure APIs and a web UI. The result is fast, searchable access to integrated genomic and clinical data, enabling scientists to surface prior mutation occurrences, tighten feedback between clinical development and drug discovery, support adaptive trials, and accelerate precision oncology research—an approach that earned SolveBio a Cluster Award for technology innovation.
