Practice management company deploys Elastic Cloud to improve performance of accounting firm workflows

Karbon, a cloud-based practice management company for accounting firms, needed a more flexible and cost-effective way to power search across client documents and workflow records as it scaled. Its earlier search setup was too rigid and expensive, forcing difficult tradeoffs about what information could remain searchable, while also needing to support data residency requirements across multiple regions.

Karbon implemented Elasticsearch on Elastic Cloud on AWS, and later began using Elastic Observability to monitor infrastructure across its production environments. With Elastic, Karbon gained predictable resource-based pricing, easier regional deployment, and the ability to scale search affordably; the company also reported increased positive customer feedback and better visibility into service health.
