A Elastic Case Study
Delhivery, founded in 2011, has grown into one of India’s largest supply‑chain providers with 19 automated sort centres, 14,000 vehicles and a workforce of 21,000, delivering up to 1 million packages per day in peak season. Facing explosive data growth—more than 50 data points per package and gigabytes of package telemetry daily—the company needed to optimise delivery speed and network efficiency and move beyond a MongoDB‑based analytics approach that could not keep up with slicing, exploring and acting on real‑time data.
Delhivery adopted the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) on the Elasticsearch Service (Elastic Cloud), streaming data via Kafka to power real‑time dashboards for operations teams and customers. The solution enabled rapid, visual troubleshooting and automated alerts, reduced call‑centre dependence, and delivered measurable gains—decisions in 30 minutes or less and sustained network productivity around 90%—while providing the scalability and features to experiment with machine learning, APM and future innovations.
