A Elastic Case Study
Network for Learning (N4L) helps safeguard more than 2,450 New Zealand schools and about 900,000 users, but needed a faster, more scalable way to detect cyber threats and protect student data. Before Elastic, log gathering was manual and slow, making it harder to respond quickly to suspicious activity and new attack vectors across the school network.
Elastic implemented Elastic Security and Elastic Observability on Elastic Cloud Enterprise to centralize log data, improve visibility, and speed up investigations. The results were significant: N4L now processes multiple terabytes of data a day and more than 300,000 events per second, reduced response times from days to hours, and achieved a 91% customer satisfaction rating, while also helping 95% of schools comply with its safe and secure internet settings standard.
