Case Study: Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory boosts security and HPC performance with Elastic

A Elastic Case Study

Preview of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Case Study

National laboratory uses Elastic to optimize performance of projected world's fastest supercomputer

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, a U.S. Department of Energy national lab, needed to strengthen security and improve visibility across its high-performance computing environment while supporting a new exascale supercomputer project. The team faced growing logging, scanning, and remediation demands, plus strict federal retention requirements, and turned to Elastic for centralized logging, security analytics, and observability.

Working with Elastic, the laboratory migrated to Elastic Security and Elastic Observability, using Elastic Agent, Fleet Server, Elasticsearch, and Kibana to unify data collection, analysis, and alerting. The result was faster search and simpler back-end management, a working Elastic cluster set up in less than an hour, and more time freed for compliance and threat hunting instead of manual infrastructure upgrades.
