Case Study: 1WorldSync achieves dramatically faster product search and real-time monitoring with Elastic

A Elastic Case Study

Leveraging Elasticsearch at 1WorldSync to increase product sales

1WorldSync is a global provider of product content solutions serving more than 25,000 companies with SaaS products like Publisher and Approval that manage and distribute rich, versioned trade‑item data. They faced slow, complex searches and scaling limits in their Oracle-based system—millions of products with thousands of flexible and composite attributes (and hierarchical, versioned relationships) made deep attribute queries slow, while distributed log analysis and monitoring relied on manual grepping and basic Icinga/Nagios checks.

The team introduced Elasticsearch to index each trade item as a denormalized document and rolled out the Elastic Stack (Logstash, Redis, centralized ES, Kibana) for logging and dashboards. Search performance improved dramatically (typically 10–100x), enabled composite-attribute queries, cut Oracle load and associated license costs, and gave support near‑real‑time visibility into message flows (35M log events/day, ~90‑day history, seconds latency). They also added KPI dashboards and alerting (via Icinga querying ES) and plan further centralization and upgrades to Elastic 5.x and machine‑learning features.
