Case Study: STRABAG achieves secure single sign-on for Elastic Cloud Enterprise with Elastic

Integrating Azure single sign-on with ECE in 1-2-3 at STRABAG

STRABAG used Elastic Cloud Enterprise (ECE) for on-premises search and for handling more than 25,000 log entries per minute from its load balancers, but needed a secure way to let employees use corporate logins in an air-gapped environment. The challenge was to enable identity-management-aware authentication for the ECE platform using Azure AD single sign-on.

Elastic helped STRABAG configure Azure AD SAML single sign-on with ECE by creating an enterprise application, adding a SAML provider, and mapping the required attributes. The result was secure, reliable corporate login access to ECE through SSO, with users able to authenticate via Azure and still retain an admin-account fallback for platform access.
