How the Elastic Stack Helped Collector Bank Drive Innovation

Collector Bank, a leading digital niche bank in the Nordics, modernized its Azure-based fintech stack to overcome slow, fragmented logging and limited visibility that hampered development and operations. With dozens of services and 18 software teams, inconsistent log formats and type collisions meant important logs weren’t indexed and teams depended on a few specialists to find issues, slowing delivery and complicating monitoring.

Collector adopted the Elastic Stack—ingesting logs via Azure Event Hub and Serilog into Elasticsearch and Kibana—using a field-suffixing approach to avoid type collisions and provide unified, real-time dashboards and alerts integrated with PagerDuty and Slack. Moving to Elastic Cloud Enterprise gives per-team clusters and enterprise security (encryption, audit logging) to meet GDPR needs; the result is faster, higher-quality development, immediate incident detection, a searchable digital archive of scanned documents, and plans to apply Elasticsearch ML for fraud detection.
