A Elastic Case Study
Snaptrip.com is a UK last‑minute staycation marketplace offering cottages, lodges and apartments with savings up to 60%. With thousands of properties to surface and customers expecting instant, accurate results, the team needed fast, richly filtered search (availability, feature filters, map bounding boxes and driving‑time constraints) while remaining lean on development and ops resources.
They deployed Elasticsearch on Elastic Cloud as an aggregation/cache layer, using background jobs and event‑driven reindexing to keep documents in sync and a geo_polygon isochrone workflow to power a “travel time” feature. The result is sub‑100ms search responses, flexible sorting without heavy reindexing, more accurate live pricing and availability for customers, reduced engineering overhead, and enterprise security with X‑Pack — with Kibana now being explored for easier data insights.
