A Elastic Case Study
Mapp’s small Root Cause Analysis (RCA) team was drowning in logfiles: traditional Unix tools couldn’t scale to give the cross‑application, cross‑location visibility they needed. Faced with growing complexity and the need to bridge teams during incidents, the team needed a more powerful, user‑friendly way to collect, correlate and explore logs.
They built and operate Elastic Stack clusters (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), ingesting and enriching logs, creating dashboards and automating deployments while coaching DevOps, developers and support teams. The result is a single view across applications—an 8.5 TB cluster that speeds incident analysis, drives wider adoption across the company, supports more agile/lean practices, and is being extended with Shield and Watcher for multitenancy and alerting.
