Case Study: Cisco achieves unified, scalable enterprise search and sub-second reporting with Elastic Cloud Enterprise (Elastic)

A Elastic Case Study

Preview of the Cisco Case Study

Elastic Cloud Enterprise at Cisco

Cisco, a global networking and technology leader, faced fragmented enterprise search across thousands of teams and millions of documents: content was siloed, relevancy was poor, teams duplicated work, and there was no central Elastic skillset or easy way to manage and monitor growing clusters. The challenge was to create a single, easy-to-manage, relevant search experience that could scale across the organization.

Cisco consolidated its Elasticsearch efforts onto Elastic Cloud Enterprise (ECE), gaining secure, on-demand provisioning, simple upgrades and resizing, centralized logging/monitoring, and a cloud-like scaling experience with no custom development. The platform now indexes about 3 billion documents per day across 24 clusters and 270 nodes, powers the SalesConnect recommendation engine, and sped sales compensation reports from ~30 seconds to under 1 second—delivering faster business outcomes, greater operational efficiency, and simpler oversight.
