Cytech harnessed the Elastic Stack to build a BI tool in 6 months

Cytech Mobile, a telecoms technology provider that runs the cloud-based mCore platform (handling over 1 billion transactions a year across 10 countries), needed a scalable BI solution for A2P SMS traffic. Previous approaches—in-app reporting, lightweight charting libraries, cloud scaling, and read-only DB replicas—proved either unscalable, costly, or lacked full-text search, monitoring and alerting capabilities.

In 2017 they adopted the Elastic Stack and, in six months, launched mCore Dashboards built on Elasticsearch and Kibana to provide search, dashboards, alerts and automated reports. The tool enabled rapid issue detection (an alert fixed a premium-SMS revenue problem in 20 minutes), cut a day-long monthly reporting task to an automatic job, and earned strong customer feedback; Cytech is now adding Elastic machine learning and Canvas and planning a wider rollout and standalone product.
