Creating 'phygital' retail experiences with Elastic Observability and Google Cloud

Auchan, a French retailer with more than 600 locations and 6,000 employees, wanted to create a more seamless “phygital” shopping experience across its stores and digital channels. But its on-prem data infrastructure struggled with speed, monitoring, and scalability as it processed about five million data flows a day across 500 applications. Auchan turned to Elastic Observability on Google Cloud to improve visibility and data management.

Elastic implemented an integrated cloud-based observability and analytics setup with Google Cloud services to ingest, visualize, and monitor data in real time across Auchan’s systems. As a result, Auchan lowered data management and analysis costs, accelerated data processing, and reduced the time needed to gain insights from minutes to near real time. With Elastic, Auchan also freed its platform team to focus on strategic work instead of infrastructure maintenance.
