Cloud consultancy reduces client outages from four times a day to just once a quarter with Elastic-based cloud automation solution

Mentat, a cloud consultancy founded in 2015, helps organizations simplify and automate cloud operations, but a major U.S. city government customer was struggling with frequent outages across its large, complex infrastructure. Using Elastic Enterprise Search and Elastic Observability, along with tools like Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Logstash, Mentat built a telemetry and automation solution to identify the root causes of repeated data center failures.

Elastic enabled Mentat to collect and analyze network data, detect CRC errors, and create the basis for long-term fixes and future self-healing workflows. The results were dramatic: outages dropped from four per day to just one per quarter, and the solution was later expanded across the customer’s broader organization to visualize failure rates and improve incident response.
