CDL, a FT Future 100 UK tech firm serving high-volume retailers and 100+ major internet brands, processes vast amounts of consumer data in milliseconds to combat fraud and improve customer outcomes. The challenge was turning billions of technical documents into real-time, business-friendly visuals for decision makers and management—moving beyond purely technical Kibana views to dashboards that surface KPIs like average and maximum response times, request volumes and journey metrics.
To solve this, CDL used the Elastic Stack and Canvas to power its Hummingbird analytics, creating branded, real-time dashboards (gauges, metrics and charts) for service KPIs, journey tracking and insurance quote-manipulation detection. In a matter of days they deployed three dashboards, received immediate positive feedback from Service Management for a clear business view of system performance, improved KPI visibility across teams, and proved the approach at scale (handling millions of requests per day) with plans to roll Canvas out to digital signage and customer-facing modules.
