Ava, which powers live captioning for deaf and hard-of-hearing people, needed a better way to keep its real-time transcription software fast, stable, and cost-effective. As the company scaled to serve 150,000 users, it struggled to track performance issues and diagnose bottlenecks quickly. To solve this, Ava turned to Elastic Observability from Elastic.

Elastic helped Ava monitor traces, logs, metrics, and profiles across its services on Elastic Cloud and AWS, including with Elastic APM and Elastic Universal Profiling. The result was better visibility into performance problems, faster root-cause analysis, reduced cloud computing costs, and quicker feature launches. Ava also identified a new hot code path within days of rollout, fixing it before release and avoiding a spike in cloud spend, while covering 80% of internal services with Elastic Observability.
