A Elastic Case Study
Audi Business Innovation (ABI) builds software for Audi and other brands as cars become “computers on wheels.” To deliver reliable in‑car digital experiences (like post‑sale feature purchases and voice recognition), ABI needed fast, scalable log storage and analysis so developers could detect and fix issues before customers were affected. Their single on‑prem Elasticsearch cluster couldn’t meet requirements for accessibility, scalability, reliability, flexibility, and security across terabytes of logs.
ABI moved to Elasticsearch Service, deploying per‑application clusters with Kibana on cloud providers and using REST APIs to automate provisioning and scaling. Centralized logging and Kibana dashboards now handle about 29 TB of logs, cutting operational overhead, improving performance and incident detection times, and letting developers focus on product innovation — keeping ABI competitive in autonomous driving, EVs, and in‑car experiences.
