EV Biotech, an interdisciplinary start-up in Groningen focused on replacing oil-based chemical production with microbial routes, needed a reliable way to track biospecimens and link them to patient clinical data across their sarcoma collection. They turned to eLabNext’s eLabJournal solution (including the eLabInventory module and the Electronic Lab Notebook) for a cloud-hosted, customizable lab information management system that could be deployed quickly.

eLabNext implemented eLabJournal to synchronize inventory and clinical records in a single application, giving EV Biotech instant visibility of specimen locations and clear links to patient treatment histories. As a result, EV Biotech now manages a biobank covering over 40 sarcoma subtypes, can quickly share specimens and data with collaborators, and has started using the ELN for experiment tracking—significantly improving biobank reliability and laboratory organization.
