GoPro, maker of popular action cameras, faced waves of creative fraud around high‑demand product launches — from bill‑to/ship‑to bypasses to call‑center social engineering. To combat this, GoPro partnered with Ekata and deployed Ekata Pro Insight alongside Ekata’s Identity Check API (integrated API) to gain a clearer picture of which orders were legitimate and which were fraudulent.
Using Ekata’s API in accept rules and Pro Insight for deeper validation, GoPro was able to sideline more suspicious orders to the fraud queue, reduce false positives, and keep its fraud queue from overwhelming SLAs so good orders ship faster. The Ekata solution also sped up manual reviews by validating customer data (e.g., catching typos versus nonexistent emails), yielding measurable improvements in detection rates, fewer false reviews, and better on‑time fulfillment.
