Industrial Alliance Auto and Home (IAAH), a Quebec-based auto and home insurer (~CAD 300M DPW), faced an urgent need to modernize an outdated OS/400 legacy core running RPG that could not support web services, real-time rating/quoting, multichannel servicing or easy integration. A previous “web layer” approach failed, so the company required a full core-system transformation to become more customer focused, accelerate product development and simplify operations.

IAAH replaced its legacy stack with EIS Suite (PolicyCore, BillingCore, ClaimCore, CustomerCore) using lean and modified agile methods, deploying 15 products in two years and migrating 1.8 million accounts and 300,000 policy headers with no business disruption. The integrated platform delivered multichannel self-service, automated underwriting, faster servicing and analytics—resulting in a problem-free rollout, 75% less time to refactor rating, 50% faster agent training, improved customer data management and reduced operational costs.
