HiRoad, established as a separate company in the State Farm family, set out to launch a behavior-based, direct-to-consumer personal auto insurance product for urban millennials. The challenge was to build a modern end-to-end platform that recognizes and rewards good driving, supports usage-based insurance (UBI) and data-driven underwriting/pricing, delivers a fully digital mobile-first experience, and enables rapid development, integration and scale.
Over a 10-month deployment led by Cognizant, HiRoad implemented a full core suite (policy admin, billing, claims, customer management and customer experience) using EIS CoreVelocity to accelerate delivery and AWS for production scalability. The result was a live, scalable UBI platform that supports mobile-first customer journeys, data-driven pricing and fast time-to-market for its target segment.
