A EIS Group Case Study
CSAA Insurance Group, the 15th largest U.S. personal-lines insurer (DPW $3.2B) supporting 1.6M auto and property policies across 24 state variations, faced growing regression-testing demands that threatened program delays, cost overruns and defects leaking into production. Existing tools required more time and resources, risking at least a year-long schedule slip and tens of millions in additional costs for the core policy modernization.
CSAA adopted the EIS Testing Framework and moved testing to AWS, dramatically increasing automated coverage (auto tests rose to 7,707 from 2,831; property to 15,436 from 450) and raising regression automation from 50% to 90%. The regression window shrank from 12–15 days to 3–5 days, early defect detection rose from 564 to 831, and production defects fell by ~60%. The AWS transition delivered the environment in under a month, improved execution time by 40% and cut environmental defects by 35%, avoiding the projected year-long delay and substantial extra costs.
