Quality Health Network improves image access for 3,600 users with eHealth Technologies

Quality Health Network (QHN), a health information exchange serving western Colorado, faced a challenge in providing its clinicians with easy access to actual medical images from external locations. The process of retrieving these images was time-consuming and inefficient, requiring providers to log into multiple separate hospital PACS platforms. To solve this, QHN partnered with vendor eHealth Technologies to implement the eHealth Connect® Image Exchange service.

The solution from eHealth Technologies integrated with existing systems to provide single-click, diagnostic-quality access to medical images through a web-based viewer. This eliminated the need for multiple logins and VPN tunnels. The results included a significant reduction in administrative burdens and duplicative exams, which limited unnecessary patient radiation exposure. The implementation also allowed QHN to expand its impact through initiatives like the Patient Centered Data Home, enhancing care coordination across state lines and solidifying its reputation as a leading HIE.
