International Forwarders, Inc. (IFI), a full-service international logistics management and customs brokerage firm, needed a more reliable IT environment as shipping complexity and client precision requirements increased. With a small IT staff and no room for downtime, IFI turned to eGroup to help create a high-availability solution that could keep systems and data available and easy to manage.

eGroup replaced IFI’s six servers with two Cisco Unified Computing Systems (UCS) C210 rack servers, added Cisco SG300 switches with automatic failover, and implemented VMware virtualization with EMC Data Domain backup storage appliances. The result was a faster, more resilient environment that is simpler for IFI’s staff to manage, supports electronic backup and recovery, and positions the company to restore operations quickly if the main site goes down.
