A Egress Case Study

UK charity Marie Curie selects governmentcertified encryption service Egress Switch to share sensitive information securely

Marie Curie, the UK charity supporting more than 40,000 terminally ill people and their families each year, needed a secure way to share sensitive information with NHS contacts and other approved third parties. To protect patient data while keeping communication fast and efficient, it chose Egress Switch, including Secure Email and Secure File Transfer.

Egress implemented encryption and access controls with real-time auditing, expiry limits, and the ability to revoke shared files, while Egress Switch Gateway enforced policy at the network boundary for messages containing sensitive keywords such as NHS patient numbers. This reduced the burden on staff, improved data protection, and helped Marie Curie focus more on care delivery while extending secure handling of personal data.
