Flintshire County Council uses Egress Switch as part of a single platform for secure information sharing across Wales

Flintshire County Council needed a secure way to share sensitive personal information electronically with approved third parties and citizens while supporting service delivery across Flintshire and neighboring counties. The council turned to Egress and its Switch platform after reviewing its secure data sharing policy, seeking a solution that would work across a wider regional network and fit its existing email environment.

Egress implemented Switch as a single secure communication platform across North Wales, integrating it with IBM Lotus Notes, enabling web access, and adding Egress Switch Gateway to strengthen policy at the network boundary. The result was simpler secure communication for users who no longer needed multiple systems, improved data protection, and a regional standard for secure sharing; the council also reported excellent support from Egress throughout the project.
