A eGovernment Solutions Case Study
Blount County Tennessee, a growing county in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, faced an outdated DOS-based AS/400 system in the Trustee’s office that required IT intervention for simple tasks and turned routine reports into multi-day projects. Trustee Scott Graves sought a modern accounts receivable and bookkeeping solution and selected eGovernment Solutions for their flexible, partner-style approach and willingness to customize software to the county’s needs.
eGovernment Solutions implemented its accounts receivable/bookkeeping software and training, replacing manual and IT-dependent processes; a sales tax report that once took five days now prints with a single command. Despite a roughly 400% increase in workload over time (parcels grew from ~53,000 to 75,000 and property tax revenue rose from $23M to $81M), the county reduced part-time labor needs and gained the equivalent of nearly one full-time staff member in savings.
