ALEC Engineering & Contracting, a large UAE-based construction firm, faced major file management and collaboration challenges on complex projects with huge data volumes, including Revit files up to 11 GB and hundreds of stakeholders. Their on-premises system made site setup slow, remote access difficult, and it was hard to keep documents current; ALEC evaluated Egnyte’s cloud-hosted document management platform, including Storage Sync, to solve these issues.

With Egnyte, ALEC centralized project data in the cloud, enabling access from anywhere, automatic syncing and backups, and easier role-based sharing with internal and external stakeholders. The results were significant: project startup time dropped from three or four weeks to just one day, terabytes of data synced reliably, and remote collaboration continued during COVID with minimal disruption. Egnyte also improved user adoption and client transparency, and ALEC now uses Egnyte across about half a dozen major projects.
