Sciforma, a global provider of project and portfolio management software, needed a unified, secure way to store, share and back up files across its international offices. Facing costly distributed Windows file servers, backups and FTPs, the company required a hybrid cloud “Dropbox for business” that preserved IT control and visibility while supporting varied local workflows and growing collaboration between branches and clients.

After trialing Egnyte, Sciforma deployed three Enterprise Local Clouds as VMware virtual appliances in France, Germany and the United States, with local administrators and a mix of private-folder sync and mapped shared drives for mobile users. The hybrid solution delivered fast local access plus cloud accessibility and redundancy, replaced the expensive file-server estate, improved secure file sharing across offices and with clients, and gave IT centralized control and increased availability.
