PSA Financial, Maryland’s largest independent multi-disciplined financial services firm, needed secure, HIPAA-compliant file access for account executives who work primarily at client sites. With several on-premises file servers reaching end of life, the company wanted cloud-based sharing for remote access but could not abandon fast local CIFS performance and business continuity inside the LAN.

PSA deployed a hybrid Egnyte + NetApp solution, installing a NetApp FAS 2220 for local storage while synchronizing files to Egnyte’s cloud. The integrated setup consolidated multiple file silos, eliminated separate backup services (Egnyte maintains redundant copies), centralized permissions via Active Directory, and delivered fast in-office access plus secure anywhere, any-device sharing—reducing management overhead and improving both user flexibility and data protection.
