Learfield Communications’ Learfield Sports manages multimedia rights and programming for more than 50 collegiate institutions and operates statewide news radio networks, supporting 70 offices and roughly 500 employees who work on the road with a mix of iPads, iPhones, PCs and Macs. Offsite staff struggled to access business files quickly and securely—VPNs were slow and cumbersome, and maintaining 70 local file servers was costly and hard to manage.

Learfield implemented Egnyte’s hybrid cloud to replace most physical servers and eliminate many VPN tunnels, deploying the solution to 175 users across 15 offices (using local cloud appliances in 10 offices and cloud-mapped drives elsewhere). The rollout provided secure, centralized control while giving employees fast, device-agnostic access to current files—improving productivity and driving demand to expand Egnyte to all 70 offices and 500 employees.
